Some wonderfully adroit sculpture provides handy cycle parking here in Dover for this cyclist who's about to swim over the channel to France (not shown). https://allpoetry.com/A-Shropshire-Lad #86175

Cambridge Retail Park Advisory sign suggests that cyclists stick to that narrow lane. "Cyclists use cycle lane only" and there's a 5 mph sign.

Posts set into river bed - line of reinstated river bank?

Count the bikes in Kingston at 10am today. Imagine how much space it would take up if these people all arrived by car instead?

Finishing work still required at the southern end of the Garscube Road protected cycle lane. It will connecting into the underpass and other existing cycle infrastructure through Cowcaddens.

Progress on the Garscube Road cycle lane.

It may not be finished, but a dropped kerb at Panmure Gate would be nice. The path now leads to the Claypit Local Nature Reserve.

Cycle parking, steps and a ramp at the new Panure Gate entrance to the Claypits Local Nature Reserve. The boardwalk leads along the side of the canal and connects to the new bridge at #153304.

The new bridge across the canal at the Claypits Local Nature Reserve is now open.

Route sign directs cyclists across a level crossing with awkward kissing gates either side #153284 , dismount, then walk across a pedestrian only bridge rather than ride a short stretch of carriageway. And just in case folk might think this ... [more]

Kissing gates on either side of the level crossing. Awkward at the best of times, but completely bonkers if a group of cyclists is trying to get clear the railway when the red light starts flashing and have to slowly negotiate the gate one ... [more]

  • Icon 153493 I have cycled from Sileby to Barrow-on – Soar, but it was extremely dangerous because car drivers were very close to me as they overtook along the Sileby Barrow Road. I would like to see a cycle lane from Sileby that links up to Mountsorrel Lane, and connects to Mountsorrel. It would be great to have a cycle path from Sileby to Barrow, which would go towards Farley Way & onto Loughborough. This would take 100s of cars off the road; a win win for saving the Earth from the dreadful effects of the climate emergency.
  • Icon 153492 Would benefit the whole estate and is well suited due to proximity to the quiet route.

  • Icon 153486 The road (The Green) which links the two villages of the Parish of Long Whatton & Diseworth runs from Diseworth to the M1 bridge at Long Whatton. It’s only safely usable by motor vehicles. It has no footpath (on many stretches, not even a usable grass verge) and a 60mph national speed limit. The combination of traffic speed and blind bends makes non-motorists feel very vulnerable. The full story is in the FEASIBILITY STUDY at the link below on which residents of both villages have collaborated: https://1drv.ms/w/s!AnS13XUK4-hEhB6hXNRzXLEnXRyd?e=ku8b0Q Here's a link to our DLWTRAIL campaign website: https://dlwtrail.wixsite.com/campaign We have been in discussion with Leics County Council about this, but thought that flagging it up as a "Widen My Path" report might help to raise the profile of our campaign and move things along. • Icon 153485 There is no footpath or cycle way from Thorpe Road down Melton Spinney Road, this road leads to Twinlakes - a major attraction. I have seen families pushing pushchairs on this busy road - a disaster waiting to happen. A cycleway / pavement could join up with the Sustrans Belvoir Ride and the country park, people in Melton would benefit from safe no car access to these popular places.
  • Icon 153484 All of Norman Way is wide enough to have a cycle path.
  • Icon 153483 This is virtually a one way street in the middle of town. It could be made a "proper" one way street from the Market square all the way to Morrisons, the other lane used for share with care. It is shameful that Melton has no cycle paths given how large the town is.
  • Icon 153482 There is no crossing between bus stops and no footpath on the West side to the garden centre and the residential area in Pleasure Pit Road which it serves, This could be improved by making a verge pathway to the garden centre from the northbound bus stop and a crossing positioned by the southbound bus stop.
  • Icon 153481 No pavement at present, just a grass verge, narrowing to less than 1 m, impassible in bad weather. Urgent need for a hard surface.
  • Icon 153480 Good section of Tarka Trail here
  • Icon 153479 Much better section of Tarka Trail here
