Mold bus station - the cycle parking is now covered, and there's a recycling bin - see #88935
Priority over this side road is a welcome upgrade. It was a Sunday when I rode along it so I don't know how often it's obeyed, but the red sign suggests it's something drivers aren't used to.
A raised continuous footway has been placed at the junction on the left, one of several along this cycle route.
A raised continuous footway has been placed at the junction on the right, one of several along this cycle route. Which is just as well considering the BMW driver thinks the footway is his personal parking space.
Free car park at beginning of this cycle route along the Dee. Local artwork new in 2018
No sign of cycle parking at Flint station (I think there are a few stands beyond the station building).
Plenty of space for cycle parking on the eastbound platform at Flint station.
Rather unsatisfactory cycle contraflow on the main street of Flint.

This is effectively a shared-use route to the Mold bypass roundabout.

Good news! (see #57603) - cycle parking has appeared at Clwyd Theatr Cymru.
Poorly placed cycle stands - putting them at an ange might have persuaded people to use both sides.
Stepped link to the former railway through Mold
This could be a useful alternative for cyclists to the main road which has cut it off.
Gravestones moved to allow more car parking - not impressed.

The signs seem to imply there might be a through route for cycles - but there isn't.
Entry to Hawarden castle park - just a short walk for those without permits, and I don't think they can cycle either.
Cycle route signs and road closed to motor vehicles, Hawarden
Flintshire County Council - all that space, just the right distance from Mold for cycling (a mile) and nothing but car parking.
One small shed for bikes, one for scooters or smokers?
The otherwise excellent Clwyd Theatr Cymru - all that space, just the right distance from town for cycling, and nowhere to park a bike.
The cycleway past Flintshire Civic Centre leaves you on this narrow lane, with warning signs to drivers.
Cycleway past Flintshire Civic Centre - obviously most people would see such a wide strip of tarmac as a car park so bollards are needed.
Cycleway at side-road, Flintshire Civic Centre
Start of cycleway to Flintshire Civic Centre - once you're safely off the A5119!
Access to supermarket on the old railway, Mold - with a bit of thought this could have been a useful two-way link for cyclists.
Rising bollards (and cones) at Mold bus station - No Entry except buses but in practice cyclists should be able to cut through too.
Nice path alongside the River Dee, although the layout around the end of this bridge is less than ideal
Once past all the barriers and obstructions, the path becomes a decent run alongside the river, if a little windy!
Narrow path under bridge made narrower by bridge support column (see also #53580)
Barriers at awkward position at top of ramp, which some cyclists struggled to get around as I approached (see also #53581)
The Dee Coastal Path, with plenty of signage, and barriers
Toucan crossing next to bridge
Shared-use footway over bridge
Signage for NCN5 turning right. The path straight on isn't really suitable for cycling, since it goes through a field and has kissing gates.
